It didn't hurt - it was quick and done with love!<BR/><BR/>I have already done a band and taken it off. The back of the piece is just the right length - the front is as short as the pattern would make it. I'm still working on the first "band" because I'm working on a contract job, but when I finished knitting the body I could see what needed to be done on the bands....<BR/>One band becomes the collar, the other becomes the hem, or body, really. I'm going to use the band I'm knitting now as the collar. The next band I knit will be wider, not the width the pattern calls for, and it will ultimately lengthen my Martha when I sew it on.
